HITTING ROCK BOTTOM
THE REINVENTION PLAYBOOK WAS BORN OF MY NEED TO CREATE MY LIFE ANEW
The Reinvention Playbook™ was developed out of necessity when I faced my own major losses and challenges that called me to examine my life and realize that it was time for a personal reinvention.
Years ago I had a “good life” — on the surface.
I had a successful corporate career in finance, and I was married to a man who I thought I’d spend my life with. We had a beautiful home, a fun sports car and took great vacations.
But my “good life” was built on lies.
Behind the scenes, it wasn’t a “good life” at all.
I was struggling with an alcohol and prescription drug addiction, and my husband was an alcoholic.
In the evenings and on the weekends we would submerge ourselves in an alcohol induced haze.
Sometimes I would black out… and on the days I had to go to work, it took me 90 minutes to pull myself together and get out of bed in the morning.
I had everything on the outside, but no passion for life on the inside. I had the job, house, husband and car, but all I wanted to do was drive into a freeway embankment.
My husband’s drinking was getting worse and worse, and I was getting more and desperate.
Finally, I just couldn’t take it any longer. I took the first steps to getting help. I knew I couldn’t do this alone. I knew that I had to stop drinking.
My husband eventually went into a rehab program, and I was free to take care of myself. I started attending a support group and I got a coach. I also found others who had the tools that got me on the path to recovery.
"Sometimes what you think is rock bottom is actually still the first floor."
GET KNOCKED DOWN 8 TIMES, GET UP 9
And then, just when I thought that my life was back on track, it imploded once again.
I lost my job in corporate finance when my company let me go.
Simultaneously, my four year relationship with a man I loved ended badly, and to add salt to the wound, I lost my home. I also had trouble finding a job. I tried to create a financial consulting business with limited success.
I was anxious and fearful, and alcohol — my prior crutch in my darkest hours — was no longer a solution.
There were days when I felt hopeful and optimistic, and then I’d hit a roadblock that triggered insecurity and fear or a disappointment — and I’d go into a tailspin for the next few days.
The good news is, by then I had ten years of practice in using my tools. So even in the toughest days, I had the ability to keep moving forward towards the life I wanted to create — even if it was baby steps. It is said...
"It’s not what happens, it’s what you do with what happens."
I’ve taken all the tools that I have learned, created and mastered over the years, and I’ve used them to help other women create soul-satisfying lives and can step into their fullest potential.
I now live a fulfilling live where I have the time, freedom and income to work with wonderful, committed clients, do the work that I’m passionate about, and know that I’m making a positive difference in the lives of others.
I remarried a man who loves me and supports me in stepping into my fullest potential. And I have the harmony and peace that I’ve always wanted — with time for hobbies like vlogging, photography, knitting, writing poetry and time to travel the world.
I can finally say that I’m living the life that I always wanted!
And I want that for YOU!
I’ve come to realize that reinvention is like a diamond — and each facet of the diamond is an aspect of your life that you have reinvented. As you keep polishing it, your new life emerges like a beautiful gem..
As I look back, I now see how each reinvention has paved the way for the soul-satisfying life that I have right now.
My time-tested, proven methods in The Reinvention Playbook™, will help you reinvent yourself again and again, no matter the situation. It has worked for me, it has worked for my clients—and it will work for you!
The greatest joy of my work is helping women to go from the agony of loss where they feel anxious and uncertain about their next steps to feeling peaceful and empowered to create their next chapter.
